May 7 - 8 and the cruise
We arrived with a 6 hour time difference on Thursday May 7 and was given leis upon arrival.
We stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott right on the beach and these are some pictures from our deck.
A stroll down Waikiki Beach looked like this which is much different from the small sleepy town of 1956.
A picture of the queen.
We are dressed up for our pictures.
Beach scenes.
.
The cruise began on Saturday May 9 and we met this very authentic Hawaiian mother and two daughters on board, they were very sweet Christians.
Beautiful surf and waterfall views.
Our next island was the big island of Hawaii. First day we were at Hilo and visited Volcanoes National Park. We only saw steam and no actual lava enenthough some other busses that day did.
Flowers...flowers...flowers.
First the Painted Church with breadfruit trees.
Kona YWAM base.
An ancient site of refuge.

Thursday we were in Nawiliwili, Kauai. We took a helicopter ride and visited both Allerton Garden and the McBryde Garden in the Lawai Valley on the south shore of Kauai. with a blowhole and artistic floral rooms. The helicopter ride was beautiful.
The following post will be for May 16 - 20, 2015.
