Brasil 2012 Recife

On 29 Jan we flew to Recife, Br. to begin a one week English school at Licia's former church with the same team as we had in Curitiba. Gail and I stayed with Michile and Anderson. They were so gracious to us giving us the best that they had and always made us feel so special, even calling the bedroom they gave us as the missionary bedroom. They said that they had heard of people ministering to angels unawares and said that we were angels to them. What a heart all these people have for sharing Christ with a lost and dying world. The main person that we dealt with was Neto, he spoke good English and lived in the same apartment building as Anderson. His wife's name is Michelle and they were best friends with Michele and Anderson. Here are the 2 Michelles. Neto and Michelle's son is Yan. Ken and Garet stayed with Neto's family. We rarely walked anywhere by ourselves for concern for our safety. Our first breakfast with Michele and Anderson was this. It was quite a spread for us. Their normal breakfast is quite simple. This is the back of the apartment building we stayed in. Typical street scene near Senator Robert Kennedy Park . We met in Licia's home church IABV We tested the students. They had tried to get as many students as possible. Many of our students (18 or so) worked for the church (Gi-Gi, Junior, Pastor Isaltino and his wife, Fernando and wife, Julia and Renata). . Pastor Ebenezer and his wife Eliane with son Junior.. God is always so faithful. This church has a calling to street witness during Carnival. We visited downtown Recife to see the preparations for Carnival with all of its sexuality and sin. We then traveled to Olinda (an old small city next to Recife) to see where much prayer goes up over Recife.. We also visited a YWAM base overlooking Recife and they also street witness during Carnival. .
We visited a beach 20 minutes from the church
and then one over an hour away. as you can see I got in some body surfing after we rode a small boat to the near reef and swam with some colorful fish. We visited a fort like museum one afternoon. and the oldest synagogue in the New World. Just before we left Recife, we had an outbreak of prayer and praise in the apartment where we were told that we had been like arrows that penetrated their hearts for God. We were prayed over for gifts of healing and prophesy. Michelle had already said to me (about our team, I'm sure) "You are revival".
After Sunday night church service, Gail was walking by some people when she was bumped by a teenage girl. Gail took a few more steps and then felt that she needed to return to the girl. Gail said to the girl, "I don't know why I'm talking to you because you don't know English (this church was all Brazilian, so they spoke Portuguese)". The girl said very clearly, "I do speak English", so God gave Gail a prophesy for her. "Don't go to Harry, Joe , Sue or Rick. You are Mine come straight to me." The girl said, "I was waiting for someone to tell me that". God said, "Can you say no?". She looked around and said, "Yes I can say No". Please pray for her and all of the teenagers in all the churches every where.

As a parting gesture, I kissed my empty Guarani Zero bottle.

Brasil 2012 CTM

Gail and I with our English teaching team again visited Brasil from Jan 8 through Feb 10, 2012. This was our 4th mission trip to Brasil (this is the way Brasilians spell Brazil). We met again at the Quadrangular Church Missionary Training Center 40 some kilometers outside of Curitiba, Brasil.

Our teaching team consisted of Licia and Forrest Heartsock, Beth Neuberger, Ken Tuck, Garet Chester and Gail and myself (Rubia, a base leader is also shown) . Oh yeah, Caleb Heartsock was always a source of interest.
Before I proceed, I will say what Kayla (Pastors Julio's) daughter,
who is also in charge of aspects of the Missionary Training Center told me. She said that our English School is of prime importance to them because when we come there the anointing comes and stays throughout the year. I told her that I have always had a real heart contact with her dad and she told me that he said the same thing about me and he wants to learn English so he and I can talk together. What an honor for me. Here are some pictures of the area
. . Our cyber cafe (6 seats) in Agundus de Sol. .
We all spoke to the school students.
.
Our classes were great. Rubia (called to Africa) and Gail. Beth with Tati, Licia's sister who attended the Eng school with her daughter and son. They were really seeking God's direction for him as he was drifting away from God. God really got a hold of him and he is now attending a YWAM DTS near Curitiba. Praise God!! We get very close to our students. God melts our hearts together. Keila and Cleide Caio Thiago and Junier Lucila and Deigo Priscila and Thiago and even a classroom romance was begun . God created bonds between the teachers and the staff and the students .
Always with a camera and a laugh was Garet
. Game room.. Cafeteria. The back of the classrooms . My friend Joseph that I speak to each year (a little Portuguese from me and a little English from him) . The pond . Everyday Cleide with her shimahone and Caleb kicking back . Our small owl..
Fieldtrip to the Botanical Gardens
and the Iron Opera House .
Dress up night
and graduation pictures .
God worked through our lives on a regular basis. For instance, Gail was walking on the trail when a student was praying and asking God for a specific answer that she needed. Gail just walked up to her and said that God had something to tell her and proceeded to give her God's response to her silent prayer. God would just make appointments either during our intercession time led by Beth or whenever He chose.
It was great to see former students return seeking to follow Christ as many have specific callings to countries around the world.
The next picture is of Renan who is called to the children of his small city (Gail supplied him with some teaching supplies). The following picture is Gail with Diego from Paraguay and then Pastor Lucy with Gail and me.

Eliene is called to India. . Junier and Dani are called to India. . Lia is called to the children of Brasil. .
